areas of my essay writing that need to be improved

A

my writing style needs improvment, i must write in an impersonal format; i need to write with decisive language at correct moments; i used possive nouns incorrectly in the context.
; i need to make sure bacterial gene names are in italics so my formatting was wrong there; i need ti write the full name before i use an abbreviation; this was a stupid mistake

also need to fix page formatting because im losing dumb marks there.

my referencing had errors; i could not make the correct reference if this is the case and i cannot reference correctly i need to find a better source or ask for support

i need to expand on some aspects, for example where i mention in my intro “Additionally, the Lac Personification operon’s genes can be manipulated to observe the phenotypes produced in the blue-white screening technique.” i should also mention that these genes can be manipulated using plasmids so there are points in which i need to expand on points with greater detail.

improvment needed on content knowledge

A

my failures here i believe come from my lack of wording; this means i am potentially misusing the words afforded to me. i knew consciously i was leaving out some information and on the balance of wording available to me i weighted the importance of certain information over others whilst i was correct in weighting transcriptional regulation with more importance i did sacrifice my expression of the understanding i have of the operon structure and the phenotypes related to the genotypes

-regarding the my shortcoming with the transcriptional regulation i needed to have shown greater awarness of when and why the operon is regulated for example where i wrote “Thus, in the presence of lactose, the operon’s genes are switched on, more efficiently expressed and positively regulated; making it a repressible operon.” i could have better phrased it as ‘thus in the absense of glucose and presence of lactose the operons genes are switched on, expressed and postitively regulated.”

A

knowledge-
having a clear and obvious relevant depth of understanding regarding the content. understanding the depth of understanding that is available and expressed within relevant academic literature- being aware of the limits of the understandings within the literature and how these limitations affect how the evidence and understanding is presented in literature.

independant study-
i can clearly show i have done research and used high quality forms of evidence that supports my work such as using high quality literature and papers; i am able to show i have done my work to be able to correctly interpret and understand the work presented in such literature
- not just reading the abstract- you need to look more at books and reveiws but especially primary papers

development of argument-
an ability to show my critical understanding and develop and reflect on my understanding and the understanding of the literature i use; my clarity in providing alternative aspects and ideas that may present alternate perspectives and also explaining why those perspectives are relevant and important. showing my undertsanding through explaining my rationale and providing clear substantial arguments to support a perspective i hold. using reason, evidence and high quality literature

Application-
applying my understanding of theories, ideas and concepts to support a thesis with facts and a clear relationship between different layers of logic from fundamental understanding to theoretical possibility- synthesis and reflection suggests understanding ideas and growing them by askeing why or what could be changed or developed

transferable- expressing my ability to use skills i ought to have in order to do a high standard of work for the area i am studying at. ability for example to communicate and write at a level expected of me at my level and pushing beyond.
