List 5 rules for working safely in a laboratory.

  1. Do not enter without permission.
  2. Put bags and stools under the desk.
  3. Do not eat, drink or taste anything in the lab.
  4. Tie up long hair.
  5. Wear eye protection, e.g. safety glasses, when you are told to do so.
  6. Do not use equipment unless you are told to do so.
  7. Check the label on the container is the one you need.
  8. Report breakages or spillages to your teacher immmediately.
  9. Report any cut, burn or accident to your teacher immediately.
  10. Do not leave equipment close to the edge of your bench.
  11. If you are unsure what to do, always check with your teacher.
