What do you have to check before accepting RX?

A

Check stock for the medication.

  • if you have a sufficient amount ask; When would you like to pick it up?
  • if there is not a sufficient amount; let the patient know, either sign them up for RX messages to notify them when the RX will be ready or send them to a different location where they have that medication in stock

  • compound medications
  • reconstitute liquids
  • package medication into vials/drams
  • label the medication/ add an auxiliary label
  • RED baskets are priority
  • file the RXs
