Q

Do you work or are you a student?

A

After I graduated in E.E I was recruited in a big company in the field of Enrgy specifically Oil & Gas. I’ve been working as an electrical engineer for the last 10 years. As an engineer, I’m responsible for lot of various things including supervision on engineering, procurement & construction of industrial plants from electrical point of view. We have surveilance on our contractor activities in those areas.

I’ve been working as an E.E. for about 10 years now, and I’ve specialized exclusively in oil & gas industry. I absolutely love what I do. Of course, sometimes I feel tired and emotionally drained, especially when I have to go on the extra mile.

Well, I guess the primary reason why I decided to pursue a career in Energy field was that I was really looking for a stable job position whih I expected to be satisfying in terms of work hours & remuneration.
At the beginning it was well-paid and secure but the more I continued the more I reallized that it doesn’t satist
To be honest
After my graduation I was looking for a job that would be well aligned with y background and the matero

As a matter of fact, I was chosen for this position. As I didn’t have enough experience in the field I was recruited as an apprentice & when I prooved myself tot he manager my

Why did you choose to study that subject:

Q

Why did you choose that major in university?

A

Well, I guess the primary reason why I decided to pursue that major in University was that I really loved math & physics which are the the basics for E.E. I had the best grades in these subjects as well & I felt that the E.E would be the only choice for me to satisfy my interest in those.
Thank god I’ve never regretted it.

Q

Do you like your job?
Is there anything you dislike about your job?

A

(For those who love challenges)
Yeah I do actually.
What I love the most about my job is that it never gets boring. Mainly because I have an opportunity to take on new challenges all the time, which I really like. In fact, the more challenging the task or the project, the more I like it.
You know, if I could do the work with my eyes closed, I swear I would die of boredom, and I would quit my job even though it pays really well.
So every time my manager gives me anew challenging task, I feel totally psyched خرکیف (thrilled).
You know, there is just something beautiful about encountering obstacles and finding ways to overcome them. And then every time I finish a difficult project or task successfully, I feel like I’m flying . My confidence skyrockets and I feel proud of myself, which helps me grow both professionally and personally, and expand my comfort zone.

Comfort zone:
( موقعیت/حالت ) بدون چالش و سختی

Q

Do you like your job?
Is there anything you dislike about your job?

A

(For nurses)
(Yes I Like) Absolutely. The most rewarding thing about being a nurse is making a difference in the lives of others, whether it be helping patients recover more quickly or helpig them pass away as peacefully and comfortably as possible. I find real satisfaction in providing good medical care and emotional support to patients (and oftentimes to their relatives). I find real satisfaction in providing good medical care and emotional support to patients (and oftentimes to their relatives).

Is there anything you dislike about your job?
(For nurses)
I’d rather say there are things that are really hard to manage or cope with. The **hardest thing **about being a nurse is that you have to handle extremely high levels of stress, ‘cause, fisrt of all, you have to deal with life and death every day.
Plus, you never know what’s gonna happen in the next second. And there’s always someone who’s complaining about something. Sometimes it feels like the’re just trying to test the limits of your patience.
Also, you have to work long hours, work on weekends, holidays and during night shifts, which is also stressful and exhausting.
What’s more, you spend most of the time wallking, standing, lifting and bending, sometimes moving heavy equipment.
It’s a demanding job. But despite all this, I don’t think I could do anything but nursing now.

17
Q

Is there anything you dislike about your job?

A

(for those who have deadlines)
The one thing I hate about my job is that I always have to work against the clock to meet deadlines. Unrealistic deadlines. And believe me, I know the difference between ‘unrealistic’ and just ‘challenging’. So what I’m** dreaming of now** is a slower paced job ‘cause I’d like to feel one step ahead, not constantly behind.

Work against the clock:
به کوب کار کردن

18
Q

Is there anything you dislike about your job?
(for people who have too much responsibilities)

A

The only thing I don’t like is too much responsibilities. You know, I feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. And it’s exhausting in the peak of projects. Of course, when I chose this job, I knew what I might faced with (was getting into), but now I’m feeling so overhwhelmed that I just wanna stop and shake my shoulders to get rid of this burden.

19
Q

Is there anything you dislike about your job?
(for people who have too much responsibilities)

A

One thing that makes me feel unhappy is that I have too much on my plate these days. And I’ve noticed that it has already started taking its toll on my work productivity ‘cause having terrifyingly long **to-do lists **day by day does nothing but prevent me from focusing on tasks that are critical to the success of the company.
And the worst thing is that I don’t feel comfortable delegating.
So I just continue carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders, feeling stressed and exhausted all the time.

Have too much on one’s plate:
خیلی سر شلوغ بودن
Take it’s toll:
تاثیر منفی گذاشتن
Delegating:
تفویض کردن

Q

Why do you dislike about your studies?

A

As a highschool student, I can say that I dislike school very strongly mainly because the teachers **pile so much work onto us **that we hardly get 5 hours of sleep a night during an average school week. You see, no matter when I go to bed, I have to wake up early because my classes usually start at 8 am. To top it off, most subjects are boring and irrelevant to our future careers. So it causes a lt of stress, making me and my fellow students reluctant to study.

Well, my pet hate is that the school curriculum doesn’t take into account individual differences and capabilities of students. All of us are different, but we are supposed to study at the same pace.
Also, I don’t like the fact that our educational system relies heavily on teamwork. Of course, I realise they’re trying to teach us to collaborate, but I think it’s unfair that everyone gets the same grade irrespective of how much each person has contributed.

Q

What was your dream job when you were young?

A

Oh, when I was younger, I wanted to either become a CEO of a big company or be self-employed.’ I was really sure that this would bring me an adequate remuneration and, as a result, a sense of satisfaction.
What is more, I realized that I was good at problems-Solving and managing people, could take on responsibility and work under pressure, which was very important for pursuing such careers.

24
Q

Have you ever charged your mind on your dream job?

A

Well, on the whole, ‘no’ as this is what I still dream about.
However, now I realize that there are quite a lot of things in this career which I didn’t think about at a younger age, for example the fact that working under pressure is robbing oriole of their life, taking them from families and pushing them to participate in the rat race in order to recognition and good money
