Work Breakdown Structure and network diagram Flashcards

1
Q

What is a WBS?

A

Hierarchal tree of tasks that need to be completed.
Very top is the project itself
2nd layer is main work packages. Each level below the second layer goes into more detail onto how to complete the work package

Q

Why is coding helpful for WBS?

A

Unique identifier, so allows for easy retrieval
Acts as ‘address’ so you can follow the task back to the owner
Grouping of similar tasks
Allows for easier cost estimation

Q

What are the benefits of critical path networks?

A

Shows logical interdependencies between different jobs

Allows priorities to be quantified (i.e. tasks that cannot be delayed without jeopardizing the whole project)
