what is work
is when we are engaged in any mental or physical activity in order in order to complete a task or achieve a goal e.g homework or cuttin the grass
unpaid work
is when we make an effort and complete a task but receive no payment.
employer
the person who hires a worker to complete a task and pays a wage or salary.
employee
the worker who is paid to complete the task(s)
paid work
is when we receive a payment for the work we do. being paid to work is also known as employment.
hours
school hours are approximately 28 hours per week, while a standard full-time working week is 39 hours.
uniform
many school have a school unform, whereas many jobs do not requiree a uniform
responsibilities
as an adult in the workplace, you will have more responsibility to achieve the business’s targets, deal with customers, etc.
pay
you do not get paid to attend school. you do get paid if you have a job
legislation(laws)
a wide range of labour laws cover your rights and responsibities in the workplace, e.g holidays entitlementsetc. the
contract of employment
this covers the legal agreement between you and your employer. you must be over 18 years to sign a legally binding contract.
nature of the work
in schol you attend classes and complete schoolwork and homework.
in the workplace, you will have duties assigned to youand targets that should be achieved.
you may be working as part of a team.

runs his or her own business ( e.g hairdresser,

financial benefits
you receive a wage/ salary
you might get a promotion and pay rise
you might receive a bonus(extra payment) if you reach a target.
