Anti Semitism

Capitalism
An economic system based on private ownership of the means of production and pursuit of business opportunities for the owner’s individual profits.
Anarchism
A political movement aiming to overthrow government authorities and replace it with the voluntary cooperation of groups and individuals working for the common good.
Imperialism
The practice of increasing a nation’s power by taking control of other nations and their recourses.
Nationalism
sense of a national identity developed from belonging to a group sharing common cultural, linguistic and historical ties, and the desire to work with others to achieve common goals related to these, at times regardless of how this might affect other countries.
Marxism
Theories developed by German philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels to demonstrate the exploitative nature of capitalism and the social and economic inequalities that resulted from it. They argued that history was a series of class struggles that would eventually lead to the abolition of private property and the creation of a classless society.
Sectarianism
The view that one religious belief has superiority over others that are perceived as being inferior to it.
Liberalism
a view of society emphasising individuals (not classes) and their rights to freedom of political, religious, intellectual and artistic expression. The view also incorporates the goals of parliamentary democracy and a free enterprise economy
Trade unionism
The of workers power through their combination into groups (trade unions) that represent them and fight for their interests.
Communism:
a political ideology and economic system, developed by Karl Marx, in which people share equally the ownership of their society’s resources, contribute to its work according to their abilities, and are provided for according to their needs. Its main ideas include the abolition of private ownership of property; government control of the nations resources; and the elimination of classes.
Socialism:
A doctrine promoting the peoples ownership of a nations recourses and the redistribution of its wealth.
Militarism
the belief or desire of a government or people that a country should maintain a strong military capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend or promote national interests.
Diplomacy
: the use of communication and negotiation between countries as a means of settling disputes and resolving differences
Secularisation
The decline in the influence of religion.
Self determination
a people’s right to exercise independent control of its own destiny
Democracy
government by elective representatives of the people
Urbanisation
the trend for people to leave their rural environments to live and work in cities and the growth and expansion of cities that occurred as a result. This brought about change patterns of land use, population distribution and economic activities.
Suffrage
a term used to describe the right to vote
Feminism
action to support the attainment of political, economic and social equality for women

the production of goods using machinery rather than manual labour and the consequent replacement of industries as the basis of a society’s economy rather than agriculture, crafts and trades
