Noun
A noun is a word that refers to a thing (book), a person (Noah Webster), an animal (cat), a place (Omaha), a quality (softness), an idea (justice), or an action (yodeling).
Pronoun
a word that stands in for a noun, often to avoid the need to repeat the same noun over and over. Like nouns, pronouns can refer to people, things, concepts, and places.
Determiner
a modifying word that determines the kind of reference a noun or noun group has, for example a, the, every.
Conjunction
a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause (e.g. and, but, if ).
Proper noun
proper noun is a noun that serves as the name for a specific place, person, or thing. To distinguish them from common nouns, proper nouns are always capitalised in English.
Abstract noun
An abstract noun is a noun that refers to something non-physical – something conceptual that you can’t perceive directly with your senses.
