Preposition
a word that connects a noun, a noun phrase, or a pronoun to another word, ——– to a verb, another noun, or an adjective.
In the sentence, “We jumped in the lake,” “in” is a preposition, and in the sentence, “I heard the sound of loud music,” “of” is a preposition.
Adjective
It describes a noun.
In the sentence ‘ the blue car drove past ‘ blue is the adjective.
In the sentence ‘ the nice boy gave his friend a hug ‘ nice is the adjective.
Adverb
a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there ).
Verb
a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence,
E.g. hear, become, happen, walked.
Noun
a word (other than a pronoun) used to identify any of a class of people, places, or things (common noun), or to name a particular one of these (proper noun).
Pronoun
any of a small set of words (such as I, she, he, you, it, we, or they) in a language that are used as substitutes for nouns or noun phrases and whose referents are named or understood in the context
Determiner
a modifying word that determines the kind of reference a noun or noun group has, for example
A-boy
THE-girl
EVERY-school
Conjunction
a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause (e.g. and, but, if ).
Proper noun
A proper noun is a noun that serves as the name for a specific place, person, or thing.
Eg. Theme park- (noun) DisneyLand- (proper noun)
Abstract noun
a noun denoting an idea, quality, or state rather than a concrete object, e.g. truth, danger, happiness.
