Adj
A word that describes, adds to or modifies a noun
Eg. (A FAT cat walked down a LONG road)
Noun
A noun is a word that represents a person, place, thing, or idea. It can be a tangible object like “book,” an abstract concept like “freedom,” a place like “Paris,” or a person like “teacher.”
Eg. (“The cat chased the mouse.”)
In this sentence, “cat” and “mouse” are both nouns. “Cat” represents a living creature, and “mouse” represents another living creature. Both are tangible objects.
Pronoun
A pronoun is a word that is used in place of a noun to avoid repetition. It can refer to a person, place, thing, or idea previously mentioned in the text or conversation.
Example:
“She is going to the store to buy groceries.”
In this sentence, “she” is a pronoun that replaces the name of a specific person or subject previously mentioned.
Verb
A verb is a word that expresses an action, occurrence, or state of being within a sentence. It’s a key element that indicates what the subject of the sentence is doing or experiencing.
Example:
“The dog ran quickly through the park.”
In this sentence, “ran” is the verb, indicating the action performed by the subject “the dog.” It shows that the dog is in motion, running through the park.
Adverb
word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there ).
“students are encouraged to pare back adjectives and adverbs in order to let the action present itself”
Prepositions
a word governing, and usually preceding, a noun or pronoun and expressing a relation to another word or element in the clause, as in ‘the man on the platform’, ‘she arrived after dinner’, ‘what did you do it for ?’.

Determiners

Conjunction
