Nouns are one of the four major word classes, along with verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Nouns are the largest word class.
Nouns
A verb refers to an action, event or state.
Verb
They give us more information about people, animals or things
Adjective
We use adverbs to add more information about a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a clause or a whole sentence

We use pronouns in place of nouns and noun phrases.

a pronoun indicating possession, for example mine, yours, hers, theirs.
Possessive pronoun
A preposition is a word or group of words used before a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase to show direction, time, place, location, spatial relationships, or to introduce an object.

a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause (e.g. and, but, if ).

A plural noun is a noun that refers to more than one person, place, thing, or idea.

Modal verbs show possibility, intent, ability, or necessity.
Modal verb
a noun denoting an idea, quality, or state rather than a concrete object, e.g. truth, danger, happiness.
Abstract noun
A proper noun is a noun that serves as the name for a specific place, person, or thing.
