Preposition
a word or group of words used before a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase to show direction, time, place, location, spatial relationships, or to introduce an object
adjective
a word naming an attribute of a noun
Adverb
a word that modifies (describes) a verb
Verb
a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence, such as hear, become, happen.
Noun
a word that names something, such as a person, place, thing, or idea
Pronoun
words like ‘I’, ‘she’, and ‘they’ that are used in a similar way to nouns
Article (Determiner)
Articles are sometimes classed as their own part of speech, but they are also considered a type of determiner
Conjunction
a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause
Proper Noun
a noun that serves as the name for a specific place, person, or thing
abstract noun
a noun denoting an idea, quality, or state rather than a concrete object
