What jobs did women do in the war?
Bus drivers, milk deliverers, police officers, railway ticket collectors, car mechanics, nurses, ambulance drivers, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, factory workers.
What did women make in the factories?
Weapons, bombs.
What were the consequences of working in these factories?
Very dangerous, yellow skin
After the war what did people think of women getting the vote?
Lots of people thought women deserved the vote after how they had helped, mps didn’t want them to start their campaign again.
What did Emily Davison do?
She was a suffragette who ran in front of the kings horse at the Epsom derby and killed herself.

What did the suffragettes do?
Destroyed property, burning politicians homes, chaining themselves to buildings/railings, disrupting political meetings, going on hunger strike in prison.
In 1900 what did women do?
Worked at home pm raised children, prepared meals, cleaned home.
After the war what happened to the women’s vote?
Had to be over 30 and married and owned land.
When did women get equal voting rights to men?
1928
What were flappers?
Women in 1920 who were single, went out alone, swore, smoked and drank.
