A

White curd like discharge, odourless
Itching, soreness
Dysuria
Pain during intercourse

Causes of vaginal thrush

A

Hormonal changes - COC
Antibiotics
Wearing tight synthetic clothing which promotes moisture build up - candida overdevelop

Vaginal thrush referral

A

Aged under 16 or over 60
Symptoms of thrush for first time
Recurrent (more than twice in 6 months)
Treatment failure
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Weakened immune system
Vulval sores/blisters
Blood in urine/discharge
Yellow/green discharge- suspect bacterial
Fishy smell discharge
No improvement after 7 days

Fluconazole oral 150mg capsule

Clotrimozole 2% external cream

Clotrimozole pessary/ internal cream- canesten 10% cream
