Theory fails to take into account that women are becoming more economically active + therefore may not have as much time for religion nowadays - women are faced with a dual burden which limits their ability to participate in regular church attendance

It may be that women are simply using the church for practical benefits, such as to support their child’s education, rather than it being connected to generally religiosity
