What is the current advised regiment for OCP?
21 on, 4 off
Used to be 21 on 7 off, but this poses a greater risk of pregnancy, as the ovaries are likely to return to normal function and ovulation after 8-10 days. 4 off provides a greater window of protection in the event of a late restart.
What is breakthrough bleeding?
Any unscheduled bleeding occurring between periods or during pregnancy. It may also happen when on birth control (OCP)
How common is breakthrough bleeding or spotting in women who are on a continuous cycling plan (OCP)?
Up to 20%

Copper Coil insertion
What is the most effective form of emergency contraception?
Copper Coil
Which emergency contraceptive pill is effective <96hr since UPSI?
Levonel
Why do many women opt for a pill instead of a copper coil insertion as a form of emergency contraception?
A coil insertion is an invasive procedure.
There are also ethical arguments as the coil does not stop conception/fertilisation, it just prevents implantation of the embryo in to the uterus.
