A
1st line 24hrs continue breast feeding, if it doesn’t improve then Flucloxacillin given as 2nd line.

What would cause Flucloxacillin to be used as 1st line treatment in mastitis?
A
If patient systemically unwell or nipple fissure present

Symptoms of mastitis
A
Erthyema, swelling, pain/tenderness (in breast feeding person)
