Doesn’t need to be mainstream in order to attract large audiences. Can make more niche content. eg= Woman’s hour

It tackles a range of issues and educates the audience on them. eg= Ivf, adoption, menopause and health concerns

It is a low cost show to produce due it mostly being dialogue from 2 presenters

Helps to fulfill the BBCs remit to include ethnic diversity in their programming. This reflects Britains growing diversity.

It reflects the changes in the media industry and the inclusion of more woman in radio production

At attempt to target slightly younger women aged 35-55 who prefer more adult content
