WLAN Client authentication 1 Flashcards
What is Open System Authentication?
Basic and insecure method where the client is granted access without any authentication.
What is WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) Authentication?
Deprecated and insecure, using a shared key for authentication and encryption.
What is WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) Authentication?
Uses a pre-shared key for authentication and provides a higher level of security than WEP.
What is WPA-Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access Enterprise) Authentication?
Uses an IEEE 802.1X authentication server for centralized user authentication, often combined with EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol).
What is WPA2-PSK Authentication?
An improved version of WPA-PSK, providing stronger security through the use of the AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm.
