Wk8 Autonomic Sensory Components Flashcards
1
Q
What are autonomic sensory components?
A
- receptors
Viscera(soft tissues in body) - not consciously perceived e.g. baroreceptors (BP)
Somatosensory/external environment - touch, where your limbs are in space - somatic and autonomic integration
2
Q
What are autonomic motor components?
A
Different to somatic:
- Effectors innervated
- No. neurones between CNS & effector
- Neurotransmission
3
Q
What does the SNS and PNS do?
A
- homeostasis + vision, reproduction
- SNS alert and active - fight and flight but also other things
- PNS rest & digest
Para = longer = sloths take more time = rest
4
Q
What is dual innervation?
A
Not antagonistic - exocrine glands
5
Q
What is single innervation?
A
E.g. sweat glands - SNS only
E.g. most blood vessels
—> vasomotor tone
Smooth muscle = SNS only
