Wk8 Autonomic Sensory Components Flashcards

1
Q

What are autonomic sensory components?

A
  • receptors
Viscera(soft tissues in body) - not consciously perceived e.g. baroreceptors (BP)
Somatosensory/external environment - touch, where your limbs are in space
  • somatic and autonomic integration

Q

What are autonomic motor components?

A

Different to somatic:

  1. Effectors innervated
  2. No. neurones between CNS & effector
  3. Neurotransmission

Q

What does the SNS and PNS do?

A
  • homeostasis + vision, reproduction
  • SNS alert and active - fight and flight but also other things
  • PNS rest & digest
Para = longer = sloths take more time = rest

Q

What is single innervation?

A

E.g. sweat glands - SNS only
E.g. most blood vessels
—> vasomotor tone
Smooth muscle = SNS only
