priorities of Physical Assessment of the hand & wrist
A
- Review radiology/imaging films and reports; operation and/or interventional reports
- Observation & Wound (if indicated) Assessment
- Vascular integrity
- Oedema
- Palpation
- Sensation (+/- reported neurological signs during Interview) & Sensibility
- Range of Motion (+/- surgeons post-op. orders e.g. early active mobs/not)
- Muscle Testing (+/- surgeons post-op. orders) including potential nerve lesions
- Functional Evaluation
- Special Orthopaedic tests (if appropriate and you are the primary point of contact/wanting
to make a diagnosis)
