What material/s are erasable pen inks made of?

A
  1. Liquid Rubber Cement: color is added to look like ink
  2. Thermochromic ink: becomes clear when heated, ink appears when cooled

A

heat energy causes dye to have a slight change in structure –> absorb light differently = different color

A

1 = PET/PTE (Polyethylene Terephthalate): water and soda bottles
2 = HDPE (high density polyethylene): milk jugs, household cleaner container
3 = PVC (polyvinyl chloride): plumbing pipes
4 = LDPE (low density polyethylene): squeezable bottles, trash bag
5 = PP (polypropylene): drinking straws
6 = PS (polystyrene): disposable plates and cups
7 = others

What is laminated safety glass?

A

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB). a plastic film, between 2 pieces of glass to prevent glass shards flying everywhere by keeping it in place.
