- look like “icebergs” ) there’s a whole lot you can’t see in a relationship and in reality you need to put a lot of work in
“Like boats righting in rough weather”

Boats fight through rough weather but eventually things will become stable, in their relationship they’re going through a rough patch but things will become stable
“Swum the distance between us”
(Metaphor)
They’ve become closer, and the swan imagery reflects that they’ve been inspired by the swans
“Like a pair of wings”
(Simile)
They’ve once again become a pair, that works together, without each other things would fail.
Last stanza is also a couplet representative of their relationship
