600 pound
How many cabin lights are there and where are they located?
There are three cabin lights. They are located in cabin overhead, forward, midsection and aft cabin
What is the purpose of the main gear box oil filter?
It ensures clean oil is being supplied to main gear box to deter wear.
The air data computer supplies what four things to the avionics system?
They supply airspeed, altitude, vertical acceleration and outside air temperatures to avionics systems
Where are the aux fuel tank receptacles located and what us their purpose?
aft cabin bulkhead. They allow for transfer of fuel from auxiliary tank to main fuel cells during fuel transfer
Explain helicopter in flight fueling receptacle.
Hifr
Explain control flight function.
Collective stick changes the angle of all four blades at the same time increasing or decreasing lift
Cyclic stick changes the pitch of the swash plate which changes the angle of one blade at a time allowing the aircraft to roll left, right, pitch up or pitch down
Rudder pedals changes the angle of the tail paddles which controls heading
Explain cycle stick function.
changes the angle of all four blades at the same time increasing or decreasing lift. It is attached to the flight control rods inside the broom closet then linked to the torque shafts that lead into the boost servo and the mixer. This moves the primary servos forward or aft which moves the pitch control rods up or down which then changes the angle of the blades allowing for increased or decreased lift
What is the purpose of non-skid?
Designed to prevent skidding or sliding, (general safety of all personnel on the aircraft
What agent may cause cancer and what are the components?
Copper Beryllium, droop stops, tail pylon bushings etc
What interval are aircraft washed on shore and at sea?
14 days ashore 7 days sea
What two areas must be pain particular attention during corrosion inspection?
Underside of A/C and transmissions where moisture tends to collect
Explain how a helicopter should be washed and why?
Washed from bottom to top to prevent streaking
What are the two methods that the tail wheel lockpin can be locked and unlocked?
Manually and electronically
How many factors affect helicopter flight and what are they?
Four. Lift, height, drag, thrust
What are some of the components located in the tail cone section of the helicopter?
Flight control cables, avionic boxes, hydraulic lines, and drive shafts
What are some of the components located in the tail rotor pylon of the helicopter?

What percentage must the main rotor head be rotating before the centrifugal force pulls the anti-flap assemblies outward?
35%
Explain how the 1 and 2 fuel cell tanks operate
1
What are the 2 methods to fuel the H60
The first is Pressure fueling, the receptacle for which is located on the port side of the aircraft on the aft cabin section. The second is gravity fueling, which is located on the port side of the aircraft on the aft cabin section above the pressure refueling receptacle
What are the 2 different pneumatic sources for engine start?
They include external ground source, the APU and engine cross bleed
The H60 power train consists of five main components. What are they?
main transmission module, the drive shafts, the oil cooler, the intermediate gearbox and the tail gearbox
Explain how the main transmission operates.
drive and support the main rotor and the tail rotor. The secondary function is to drive the accessory modules and the utility hydraulic system pump
How many types of APU are there?
turbo mach and the garrett
What takes place when hydraulic fluid is decomposed by heat?
Toxic gasses are released
Explain what the patch test is.
A method of evaluating fluid contamination, as Hydraulic fluid passed through a filter/membrane
