Identify Riesling
International Grape Variety
Origin: Germany
Preferred growing conditions: Best in cool to cold climates
Body: Very light (dry) to very thick (super-ripe desert wine)
Acidity: Very High
Style: Most are dry to slightly sweet (touch of sweetness is added to mask high acidity). Can also be a desert wine
Aging regime: almost always aged in stainless steel, should not be in oak.
Varietal Characteristics: German for the French term of terroir. The grape varies wildly based on the region it is grown. Younger Rieslings tend to be floral, aged tend to show honey and petrol.
