A

A

In 1948 parliament passsed the british nationality act. This meant that all the people of the empire were allowed to live and work in britain

A

Not all white people welcomed them and even if they were qualified they would mostly be offered low paying labour jobs

What new law did the government put in place to fight racism?

A

The government put in place a new law called the race relations act 1965, it made racism illegal however only in public places. The governemnt the decided to tighten up the law in 1968. Making it illegal to refuse housing or employment
