Q
NTFS Permission
A
NTFS (NT File System) stands for New Technology File System (NTFS).
NTFS permissions are used to manage access to the files and folders that are stored in NTFS file systems.
2
Q
Share Permission
A
share permissions determine the type of access others have to the shared folder across the network.
3
Q
What happens if a user is in different groups with different permissions?
A
Permissions are cumulative.
For example,
Group A has permission to read folder A,
Group B has permission to read folder B,
User1 in both group A and group B is able to read both folder A and folder B.
except when admin explicitly set deny setting.
4
Q
OU(organization unit) vs group
A
- you can only set permission on groups and users, not OU.
For example, when you add read permission to a folder, only groups and users can be selected. - you can only ad GPO(Group Policy Object) to OU, not users or groups.
- you can set delegate control on OU.
