Desktop

Start Menu
Square on the Start Menu that you click on to open an app
Tiles
A bar at the bottom of Windows 10 that allows you to access or view open or favorite applications
Taskbar
The action of adding an icon shortcut” to the start menu or taskbar that links to most commonly used apps”
Pinning
A list of recently accessed files by right–clicking on an app on the taskbar
Jump list
A feature that allows the user to view 2 or more windows side–by–side without resizing the window
Snap
Shows all open apps at the same time
Task view
Accessed by pressing Alt + Tab to switch between apps or virtual desktops
Flip
Graphical user interface for accessing and organizing files in your computer. File management function in Windows
File Explorer
A created desktop by the user that holds their own set of applications
Virtual Desktops
Left side of the window in the File Explorer. Easy place to move files between folders and drives
Navigation Pane
Right side of the window in File Explorer. Used to display details about files and folders
Content Pane
Collection of information that has been saved and given a filename
File
Virtual container for files. Accessed via File Explorer
Folder
Temporary storage area where material cut or copied from a file is kept until it is pasted in another location
Clipboard
A feature that makes it easy for you to search the web and Windows. It uses the Bing search engine by default
Windows Search
Feature that allows you to search for files or folders located in a specific location
File Explorer Search
Ability to minimize all windows except one by shaking its upper tab
