Convection currents
When gases and liquid rise and sink in a circular pattern
Sea breeze
When wind from the sea blows to the the land also known as day breeze
Land breeze
When wind from the land goes to the sea also known as the night breeze.
Coriolis Effect
The rotation of the earth causes objects in the northern hemisphere deflects to the right while the southern hemisphere are deflected left.
Jet stream
A band of fast moving wind causes by different temperatures.
Trade winds winds
Winds that blow towards the equator.
Doldrums
A spot near the equator where there are very few winds
Polar Easterlies
Winds that are found near the poles, that move EAST-WEST.
Prevailing Winds
Wind that blow away from the equator.
Prevailing Westerlies
Winds that blow away from the equator blow WEST-EAST.
La Niña
Band cold ocean temperature that develop of South America
El Niña
Band of warm ocean temperature that develop off the coast of South America
Gulf Stream
An ocean current that brings warmer temperatures to the East Coast of USA 🇺🇸
