Explain the main duties of the solicitor when appointed as sole executor of James’ new Will.

Notify all relevant companies/organisations/people/ register death.
* Establish assets and debts of the estate.
* Apply for a grant of probate.
* Complete relevant IHT form.
* Pay the IHT due.
* Collect all money due to the estate.
* Pay any outstanding bills, tax and debt.
* Distribute the net estate according to James wishes.
