In this chapter, I address the question “What do we know?” by discussing filicide side research in three areas.

First, I present current estimates of the prevalence of filicide.

The USDHHS report indicated that almost all of the children killed by abuse or neglect were very young:

The USDOJ study also found that most of the victims were the youngest and most vulnerable children:
