A

Nine black students were chosen to integrate an all-white high school in Arkansas.
Mobs arrived to shout abuse at the students and the National Guard was called in to stop the students getting into the school.
President Eisenhower was forced to send in federal troops to escort the students into school.

They organised lift shares and black taxi firms to give cheaps for black people.
The boycott lasted for 381 days.

A

The Supreme Court declared that all bus segrgation was unconstitutional so the black people rode the buses again.
Showed that the government were willing to act when they had to however it did not mean everyone followed the law.
