What ‘categories’ are Airmen divided into
Non-commissioned aircrew and ground trades
How long do officers commission for?
6 years for specialist branches
12 years for functional branches

Early Departure Payment earning commission

Appointed, offered or personnel elect to extend service to 20 years (or age 40 whichever comes second)

Private finance contracts
Hard facilities management contracts (keep buildings safe, maintained etc)

Sponsored reservist
Full time Reserve Service
Additional duties commitment
What is a sponsored reservist?
Civilian employees on a contract with MOD to be mobilised as required
What is Full Time Reserve Service (FTRS)
Reservist with binding commitment to full time service
What is additional duties commitment (ADC)?
A reservist who serves on a binding commitment to part time service

Part time volunteer
Volunteer ex regular reserves
RAFVR (University squadron)
RAuxAF commitment

Full commitment (FC) same range of duties and deployment liability as regular Limited commitment (LC) full range of duties with liability for compulsory detachment in support of their primary duty Home commitment (HC) full range of duties with a liability for compulsory detachment limited to training periods and other limited duties stated
