Compressed Gas
Class A - a material that is a gas at normal room temp and pressure. eg: hairspray/propane tank
Flammable and Combustible Material
Class B - can catch fire easily at or just above normal room temp and continue to burn. eg: spray paint.
Oxidizing Material
Class C - can decompose readily to release oxygen or another oxidizing substance.
Poisonous and Infectious Materials
Class D - material can cause harmful health effects. Immediate death. Division 1. eg: furniture polish, bleach, rat poison.
Materials Causing Other Toxic Effects
Class D - causes a wide range of harmful effects, toxic effects after prolonged exposure. Division 2.
Biohazardous and Infectious Materials
Class D - organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites that can cause diseases and or death. Division 3. eg : raw meat.
Corrosive Material
Class E - can cause severe burns and possibly permanent damage to human tissues. Can attack or corrode metals. eg: oven cleaner, batteries.
Dangerously Reactive Material
Class F - unstable or highly reactive materials that can undergo extremely hazardous uncontrolled reactions.
