Nonsevere cases
First episode: metronidazole
1st-line: oral vancomycin or oral fidaxomicin
2nd-line: oral metronidazole
Severe cases: 1st-line: oral vancomycin
Diptheria
IM Penicillin
Oral/IV erythromycin 14 days
(PLUS diphtheria antitoxin)
Trichomoniasis
Metronidazole (7 days)
Chlamydia
Doxycycline(1st) or Azithromycin
Gonorrhoea
Ceftriaxone (with doxy or azithro)
Syphilis
Penicillin
Chancroid
Azithromycin
Lymphogranuloma ventrum (LGV)
Doxycycline
BV
Metronidazole
Pneumocystis jiroveci
Co - trimoxazole
Lyme disease
Early disease: doxycycline or amoxicillin it contraindicated (eg pregnancy)
Disseminated disease: ceftriaxone
Atypical pneumonia’s
