where the wild things are Flashcards
Molly: No! I’m the Ruler of the Wild Things! I am scarier and more wild that you are!
No! I’m the Ruler of the Wild Things! I am more ferocious than you are!
Mom: Max! Molly! Martha! Come help me get dinner ready.
NO!
Molly: We are wild things!
And Wild things don’t do chores!
Mom: If you wild things don’t behave and help me, you’ll be sent to bed without supper.
We’ll eat you up!
Delivery Person #2: It’s a boat.
Who’s it from?
Delivery Person #2: I think you should go anywhere the wild things are Not!
We’re not afraid.
Wolf #1: Children like you wouldn’t be safe there.
We’re not just children, we’re wild things too!
Molly: So? We don’t need those to be wild things.
We’re the most wild things of all.
Molly: And we want to find the place where the wild things are.
That’s where we belong.
Molly: I’m Molly.
I’m Martha. We’re wild things just like you.
Narrator: And they roared their most terrible roar!
ROAR!
Narrator: And they gnashed their terrible teeth!
GNASH!
Narrator: And the wild things began to roar their terrible roars, gnash their terrible teeth, roll their terrible eyes, and show their terrible claws till Max, Molly, and Martha said
BE STILL!
Narrator: And tamed the wild things with the magic trick of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once.
We have a magic trick that will prove we are more wild than all of you.
Wild Thing #5: What shall we do now?
You must all go to bed without supper.
Molly: It is time for us to leave the place where the wild things are.
And so we are giving up being your rulers so we can go home and eat dinner.
Wild thing #2: We’ll eat you up we love you so!
We said NO!
Wild Thing #1: We don’t want to be alone.
You’re the wildest Wild Things we’ve ever met.
Narrator: And Max, Molly and Martha led the Wild Things in one final Wild Rumpus. All together they roared terrible roars –
ROAR!
Narrator: They gnashed their terrible teeth–
GNASH!
Narrator: They rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws and danced and danced through the night and day. At last, it was time for Max, Molly, and Martha to return home, so they stepped into their private boat and waved good-bye and sailed back over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day and into the night of their very own room where they found their supper waiting for them and it was still hot. And they all lived how?
HAPPILY EVER AFTER!
