Q

Type of conflicts?

A

I think the main conflict of the story is man vs man. In the story, it would be Carl Harmon/Carl Parrish against Nancy. They are fighting against each other since more than seven years. There is also so many others little conflict. There is, for example, other man vs man conflict, like Mr. Parrish against Michael, Mr. Parrish against John Kragopoulos. There is also man vs society, for example, Nancy against the society, everybody that think she is guilty of the crimes. There is also man vs self, which is Nancy against herself, where she fights against her mind and feelings. Finally, there is man vs nature, which is in the story, the characters against the storm. The storm makes everything much more complicate and dangerous.

18
Q

Nancy?

Why Carl didn’t want Nancy and Lisa to go to the Doctor?

Carl didn’t want Nancy and Lisa to go the doctor, because he would have known that Lisa, and eventully Nancy, were drugded and sexually abuse by Carl. Indeed, Carl made Nancy take pills that made her all sleepy and weird and always used to hit Lisa for no reason. If they had gone to the doctor, the thruth would have been known and important consequences would have happened to Carl.
