Standard Adult
Designed for person who weigh less than 200lbs
Heavy- Duty
Constructed for people who weigh more than 200lbs
Ultralight Wheelchair
Lightweight, Weighs 12-30lbs, less cumulative trama to upper extremeity
Intermediate or Junior
Designed for person with bodies smaller than a adult but bigger than a child
Growing
Designed to permit adjustments as individuals grow
Child or Youth
Children’s up to 6 year olds
Hemiplegic
The seat is lowered by 2 inches to allow better use of LE to propel the chair. Difficult to perform the standing transfer.
Amputee
2 inches posterior to their normal postiion to widen the base of support in order to compensate foe the loss of weight on LE
One Hand Drive
Two drive wheels connected by a bar produces to hand rims that propels both wheels of the wheelchair (person uses one hand)
Externally Powered
Power chair (use of battery system to propel)
Sports
Low profile, a lightweight chair that is customized or bought for various sports activities.
Reclining
Semi Recline (30 degrees from vertical)(all the way to horizontal position 180 deg) Add leg and head rest are necessary
Tilt in Space
used for persons who cannot tolerate sitting upright
