sans culottes discontent at removal of leaders dantin and hebert. Assignat dropped still and commune imposed maximum on wages, wages dropped by ½ value. Maximum on goods prices- inflation- working class blamed committee and Rob.

Rob didn’t like extreme atheism eg dechristianisation or catholicism. Believed in god tho- created ‘cult of the supreme being’- Festival of the supreme being had the oppposite affect. catholics and atheists hated it and many french thought confusing, especially as state imposed. Idea of Rob as power crazed dictator- put himself on stage like God. - wtf happened to the dec of the right of man lol

With the Law of Prarial, division occurred within the CPS, Herbois was offended by the Cult of the Supreme Being, Carnot accused Robespierre and Saint-Just of being dictators.
Collot D’Herbois, leading memeber of Public safety was as a radical de-christanisation, appalled by CSB. CGS angered by the law of prairial. It hadnt been consulted over the law and as they body of responsible for rev justice. CGS sidelined as rob police Bureau began to take over its responsibilities.

Herbois, Fouche, and Jean-Nicolas, a member of the CPS, created a case that put Robespierre under the influence of an insane woman in Paris. Fouche alleged that rob was under the influence and this was why he was trying to restore religion to france (his gilr was gonna give birth to the next messiah)
Robespierre discover the plot and told the chief prosecutor of the Revolutionary Tribunal not to let the case through agaginst (Theot Robs girl)
Robespierre’s mistake
26th July 1794, Robespierre appears at the National Convention stating that he knew of several traitors, but refused to name them, making everyone feel threatened and vulnerable.

What happened when Rob and Saint just ( who returned from Belgium)?
tried to speak to the assemblt, their voices were drwoned out by cries of ‘down with the tyrant’ collot as president of the convention have them no chance to speak in defence of themselves. The convention proceeded to vote for the arrest of Rob and his allies.. Saint just, Couthon, his bro.
when Imprisoned what did they do?
when Imprisoned and escaped hotel de ville, could have called paris sections for insurrection, but Hotel de ville national guard arrrested them. rob and his bro guilltoined the next day 28 july 1794.
Thermidorean gov established and did what
abolishing the instrument of the terror. Repealed the law of prairial . NOV 1793 JACOBIN CLUB CLOSED DOWN.

21 feb 1795 restored fredeom of worship and sanctioned the end of CSB.
In attemot to avoid emrging dictatorship he convention decreed that a quarter of the committe of public safety had to change each moenth (kinda neg affect has couldnt change laws or make change)
Abolished paris commune, believed they played vital role in the insurrection of sans culottes
