When stopped by an officer, you should:
Pull over to the right; activate turn signal or emergency flashers
When pulling over to the nearest safe spot out of traffic, do NOT stop
On bridges or overpasses
As the officer approaches, make sure that both hands
Are visible to the officer/ on your steering wheel
If you are stopped at night, to ensure visibility when the officer approaches
Turn on interior lighting
In accordance with Arkansas law, you should provide the officer with
your driver’s license, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration,
If there is a weapon in your car
tell the officer and present your concealed carry permit with your driver’s license.
The officer may approach
from the driver’s side OR the passenger’s side
Signing a citation is not an admission of guilt
it is just a promise to appear in court at the designated time or to pay the fine before the court date.
