A
any system of rules governing people’s access, their use and control of things, whether tangible or intangible, natural or manufactured.
simplified version: property doesn’t have to be physical.

what is social contract theory?
A
our ancestors were in a ‘state of nature’ (before law and property existed) and saw it was tooo easy for property and rights to be exploited, so individuals gave up some of their rights and freedoms in exchange for security and protection.
