What is Prehistory
Prehistory is the time before people could read or write
What is History?
History is the discovery of the past
What is archaeology
Archaeology is where people dig up money, pottery, bones, jewellery and weapons from the past
What is chronology
It is a time line of events starting with the earliest dates and finishing with the latest
What is a source?
A source is anything that gives us information the we can use to know and understand
What is a primary source?
A primary source is a bit of information that comes from the time in question for example and eye witness
What is a secondary source?
A source which is produced some time after the event
What are some examples of primary sources?
Books, diaries, letters, newspapers
Stories, poems, songs, eye witnesses
Photos, films ,maps, paintings
Weapons, coins, clothing, furniture, buildings
What are the 4 types of primary source?
Oral, pictorial, written and material
What are anachronisms?
When an object is placed in the wrong period of time
What does bias mean?
When only one side of the story is given
It could be exaggerated or lies
What does BC mean?
Before Christ
Before the year 0
What does AD mean?
Anno Domineo
In the year of our lord
Anytime after the year 0
