Stages and types of design with a description?
Conceptual- Ideas that show the general basics and looks of the design without any thought of how it will fit together etc.
Configuration- Shows how all the parts will fit together.
Parametric- Giving values to the key parameters and measurements.
Detail design- Giving a complete view of parameters and how things fit together and behave.
Give the definitions of Constraint Design Artefact Function Behaviour Goals Concept
Constraint- Something that marks out the boundary between feasible and infeasible solutions.
Design- Model, description of the thing being designed.
Artefact- The object itself.
Function-Desired/intended behaviour.
Behaviour- Actual way it performs, how it fulfils function.
Goals- Requirements, things to be attained, desires.
Concept- Model (mental) of a thing.
What is the organ part of the structure?
Key structural part that fulfills the function.
Describe Function, Behaviour and Structure.
Function- is the intention, purpose, or duty of the artefact.
Behaviour- describes what an artefact does, and how it
achieves its functions.
Structure- describes distinctive attributes that identify the artefact, and their interactions.
Draw the FBS and Capability diagram.
See diagram.
What is capability?
Capability is an intrinsic quality of an entity able to deliver a desired effect.
What design features does the evan’s model show?
Iterative
Convergent
(Process?)
What is the difference between Partial and Total Design?
Partial Design
Concerned with only certain influences and aspects of the design
of a product e.g. mechanical design, aesthetic design
Total Design
Concerned with all aspects and influences on the design of a product
Draw the Reaction chamber sys eng process.
see diagram.
Draw systems engineering V model.

Name 3 design models.
