Why are Operating Systems important?

They provide a clean, easy to use interface between the hardware and user applications.

A
Different processes don’t tend to share much, but threads share everything.

A
We put parts which are not being actively used on the hard drive. A virtualised environment.

A
A hypervisor supervises the supervisors of processes.
