a legally enforceable promise, §1 a promise or set of promises for the breach of which the law gives a remedy, or the performance of which the law in some way recognizes as a duty
bargain contract
agreement pursuant to which the promisor promises to do something in exchange for some promise or performance
§90 promissory estoppel
promise reasonably inducing action or forbearance; does not require mutual assent or consideration (no agreement (assent) or promise or performance exchanged (consideration))
restitution
used after a court rescinds a K, but one or both of the parties conferred a benefit on the other. if one party conferred a benefit they have to give restitution to the other party. Equitable remedy for both unjustness and unfairness
