Pope Leo III unexpectedly appeared at Charlemagne’s castle in modern day Germany to seek protection from threats by his enemies.

Patrick, was an important missionary who was born in Britian in the late 300’s and sold into slavery in Ireland
He eventually escaped and when he returned, he converted many people to Christianity and even founded hundreds of Christian churches in Ireland. After his death, the Catholic Church recognized him as a saint.
