Difference between LCV and HCV? Which one to use in which case?
A
These are used for calculating heat input to find the plant efficiency. LCV assumes water as a product in the exhaust remains as vapour so the latent heat hasn’t been transferred to the turbine. HCV assumes water in the exhaust has condensed to liquid so the heat input is considered greater.
