What are the five components of being physically fit? (Name some examples).

A
  1. Cardiorespiratory endurance: The body’s ability to supply fuel during prolonged physical activity.
    Examples: Swimming, walking, biking, etc.
  2. Muscular strength: The ability of a muscle to exert force during activity and working against resistance.
    Examples: Lifting weights or doing exercises with resistance bands.
  3. Muscular endurance: The ability of a muscle to continue to perform without fatigue.
    Examples: Rapid walking, running, jogging, bicycling, and dancing.
  4. Body composition: The relative amount of muscle, fat, bone, and other vital parts of the body. (Bathroom scales do not assess how much is fat and how much is lean mass.
  5. Flexibility: The range of motion around a joint. It can help prevent injuries.
    Examples: Swimming, stretching, and yoga.
