Q

what was the effect of the invasion of the Ruhr.

A

Invasion of the Ruhr was the direct cause to hyperinflation.

German Government told the workers to go on strike “passive resistance”

they had to pay the workers but they were running out of money as the Ruhr was not providing trade which meant no profit was made.

the government responded by printing large amounts of money

striking workers spent there money quickly

prices increased the government printed more money
the more pries increased the more money was spent

wages became worthless = hyperinflation

Q

What effect did political uprising have on the government

A

The Weimar republic were politically unstable— this meant that the parties could easily overpower them

it showed that Weimar republic were behind and people were ready to step forward an take over.

Weimar republic were too focused on building there economy back up than fighting off political parties.

German peoples lives were being affected largely and they were desperate to have a strong leaders/ government so they started voting for extremist parties.

anything was seen stronger than the Weimar government

all these factors were dangerous as the Weimar republic were loosing large amounts of supporters making them even more weak.
