Who led he Spartacists and who were they?
A
Karl Liebknect and Rosa Luxemburg. They were a communist group (left wing) liked what had happened in Russia with Lenin’s Bolsheviks. They wanted all the private property and wealth to be shared amongst the people.

Who were the Freikorps?
A
They were not a political party, led by Wolfgang Kapp. They were nationalists who wanted Germany to be like it used to be, so they hated democracy. They wanted one leader, like the Kaiser.

Name 3 reasons the Weimar Republic was formed?
A
- Germany had lost the war, their country was in chaos and needed stability.
- Allies offered peace to Germany if they they became more democratic.
- The Kaiser abdicated on 9/11/1918 and ran away to the Netherlands.
- Friedrich Ebert (Socialist Leader) stepped up to become the new leader
